The Pageant nominated for Pollstar's "Nightclub of the Year"

Via the RFT's A to Z music blog; Another St. Louis music venue is getting national recognition, as The Pageant is one of five venues across the country nominated for "Nightclub of the Year" in Pollstar's Concert Industry Awards.

The Pageant presents a variety of musical styles; of interest to jazz fans, it has hosted a number of smooth jazz shows, as well as the St. Louis appearances of acts such as Zappa Plays Zappa and Herbie Hancock's Headhunters 2005. UPDATE, 2/3/09: Alas, The Pageant did not prevail; as reported here by the Post-Dispatch's Kevin Johnson, they lost out to Washington D.C.'s 9:30 Club.
