Regular readers of this space know that I keep a fairly close eye on the site's traffic statistics and user information, including data about what sites refer people over here. That's how I learned that STLtoday, the online version of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, has put up a link to StLJN in the "St Louis Area Blogs" sidebar on the main page of their blogs section. It looks like they're just beginning to build a blogroll, as only five external sites are listed so far. But make no mistake, I'm very happy that StLJN is one of them, as STLtoday is (as they often note themselves) the most heavily trafficked St. Louis news site on the Web.
I've noticed occasional visits from pulitzer.net (the IP address that serves the Post, named after the paper's former owners) in the site logs here, and, obviously, I do link to articles of interest at STLtoday on a fairly regular basis. But prior to this, I had no reason to think that this site was even on the radar screen of anyone associated with the paper or the Web site, save maybe freelancer Terry Perkins, who covers jazz for them and is an occasional contributor here as well. Given that I've also been a vocal critic of the Post from time to time, I think the fact that they're willing to link here anyway speaks well of whoever's in charge of such things. So, my sincere thanks to the person responsible for the link-love. I'll try not to let it go to my head.
