July highlights at Finale include Vitro, Adair, Ivanovic, plus Dave Black's CD release party
Goran Ivanovic
As we head into the middle of summer, the flow of touring jazz performers coming to St. Louis inevitably diminishes somewhat, but unlike some past summers, this year it doesn't seem to be drying up completely. For starters, in July there's Jazz at the Bistro's three-week summer series of female vocalists and the Rendezvous All Stars and Guitars and Saxes smooth jazz shows at the Pageant.
And it looks like Finale Music and Dining will continue to book both touring and local jazz performers through the hottest months of the year, too. Next month, singer Rosanna Vitro will perform at the club on Saturday, July 8, and pianist Beegie Adair returns to take the stage on Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15. Then on Friday, July 21, it's the "Balkan fusion" sounds of guitarist Goran Ivanovic and his Group.
Finale will also be hosting a CD release event for a local St. Louis favorite, guitarist Dave Black, on Thursday, July 20. (More about this later, I hope.) Other shows with potential jazz interest during July include Harmony Fernandez and Tom Kennedy on Thursday, July 13; Tim Cunningham on Saturday, July 22; Sandy Weltman and New Harmonica Jazz on Friday, July 28; and Dean Christopher's Rat Pack tribute show on Saturday, July 29.

Goran Ivanovic Group will play FRIDAY, July 21, not Saturday. FYI.
Thanks for reading StLJN, and for pointing out the error. It's been corrected in the original post.
