Threadgill, Bode, Civello will
sing this summer at the Bistro

Chiara Civello

Earlier, we told you about Jazz St. Louis' plans for a series of summer shows featuring up-and-coming female vocalists, the first of whom - Pyeng Threadgill, daughter of famed saxophonist and composer Henry Threadgill - was initially revealed to us by that sometimes-unreliable oracle known as Pollstar, then confirmed by JSL.

Now, they've finalized the rest of the series, and here's how it breaks down: Threadgill will kick things off, appearing at Jazz at the Bistro on Friday, July 7 and Saturday, July 8. Then, St. Louis' own Erin Bode, who certainly qualifies as "up-and-coming" even though she's also quite familiar to local audiences, will perform on Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15. Pianist and singer Chiara Civello, who was born in Italy and studied at Berklee, will close out the series on Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22.
