This summer, the city of Webster Groves is sponsoring a series of free concerts and film screenings at Gazebo Park in the Old Orchard area, and a couple of the programs may be of special interest to jazz listeners.
On Friday, July 7, singer Erin Bode will perform, followed by a showing of director John Hughes teen-angst favorite Sixteen Candles. And on Friday, July 21, Farshid Etniko will bring their world-Latin-jazz sound to the stage, with the surreal silliness of director Tim Burton's Pee-Wee's Big Adventure on screen afterwards. Both concerts start at 7 p.m., with the films showing at 9 p.m. You can see listings for the entire series here.
A tip o' the StLJN cap goes to StL DiatribeR for this item.
