Bluiett, Ehrlich, Cellar Door Sessions
named as finalists for JJA awards


Hamiet Bluiett

The Jazz Journalists Association has announced the finalists for their 10th annual awards, and the list includes some names with a St. Louis connection.

Hamiet Bluiett, who currently resides in Brooklyn, IL when he's not in New York or on the road, was named as finalist in the "Baritone Saxophonist of the Year" category, while University City native Marty Ehrlich made the finals in both "Clarinetist of the Year" and "Alto Saxophonist of the Year". Also, Miles Davis' The Cellar Door Sessions 1970 is a finalist for "Boxed Set Reissue of the Year".
