It has been said that confession is good for the soul. And so, in the interest of both journalistic transparency and a clean conscience, this is the recurring feature in which yr. humble editor admits his mistakes, apologizes, and then quickly moves on.
First off, a couple of weeks back in an item previewing the Text of Light performance at Webster University, I mistakenly identified Thurston Moore as a member of the group, when it is in fact his Sonic Youth bandmate Lee Ranaldo that does the improv-to-film gig. This can only be attributed to a momentary brain freeze, as I did correctly identfy Ranaldo in a prior item.
Then there's the Carmen Lundy concert, for which I listed an incorrect date last week. I obtained the original information directly from the Sheldon's web site, but on a subsequent visit a couple of days later, saw a different date listed for the show. Perhaps the date was changed, or maybe sombody goofed in the original web posting, but whatever the reason, the correct date for the lovely and talented Ms. Lundy's appearance is actually Sunday, November 13.
Finally, I also goofed in today's posting about singer Danita Mumphard, getting the title of her upcoming CD With Love confused with that of another CD from a different female singer. Ms. Mumphard politely pointed out the error (and sent along a more recent photo), and I went back and fixed the post.
My apologies to the artists and venues involved, and to you, O loyal reader, for the errors.
