StLJN Saturday Video Showcase:
Jazz St. Louis' "Season of Stream," part 2

This week, let's take a look at some more of the shows shared online in recent weeks by Jazz St. Louis as part of their "Season of Stream."  (You can see part one, which features six more videos recorded at the Bistro and released by JSL during the current live music shutdown, here.)

Today's first clip up above documents a set by bassist John Clayton, saxophonist Jeff Coffin, and drummer Matt Wilson. The trio teamed up for some performances at the Bistro on the first weekend of November 2019 after completing week-long educational residencies for Jazz St. Louis.

After the jump, you can see saxophonist Tim Warfield and his Organ Band, as recorded in February of this year. In addition to Warfield, the group features trumpeter Terell Stafford, organist Pat Bianchi, drummer Byron Landham, and percussionist Daniel Sadownick.

Next up is singer Jazzmeia Horn, seen here as part of her St. Louis debut last May, and backed by bassist Barry Stephenson, pianist Keith Brown and drummer Henry Conerway III.

That's followed by a set from the Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, also featuring guitarist Jimmy James and drummer Dan Weiss, that was recorded during their St. Louis debut performances in January 2020.

The fifth video features guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel's trio with bassist Dario Deidda and drummer Mark Whitfield Jr., and was recorded in February of this year.

As a sort of musical lagniappe, the final video, though not part of the "Season of Stream" series, documents the final St. Louis appearance of singer and pianist Freddy Cole, who passed away earlier this year. The set by Cole and his quintet with guest saxophonist Houston Person was recorded at the Bistro in October 2019.

You can see the rest of today's videos after the jump...
