Singer, songwriter, and pianist Norah Jones will return to St. Louis for the first time in more than three years to perform at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 6 at the Peabody Opera House.
Jones (pictured) last played St. Louis in a "secret" un-billed appearance during the Open Highway Music Festival in August 2013 at Off Broadway, and previously performed at the Peabody in October, 2012.
Her newest album Day Breaks, which was released in October of this year on the Blue Note label, has been perceived by many critics and fans as a welcome return to the jazz-influenced sound Jones offered on her 2002 debut album Come Away With Me.
Day Breaks features guest performances from well-known jazz musicians including drummer Brian Blade, bassist John Patitucci, saxophonist Wayne Shorter, and organist Dr. Lonnie Smith, and includes Jones' interpretations of Horace Silver's "Peace" and Duke Ellington's "African Flower" as well as nine original tunes and a cover of Neil Young's "Don't Be Denied."
Tickets for Norah Jones at the Peabody Opera House are priced at $52.50 and $68 and will go on sale at 10:00 a.m. this Thursday, December 15 via Ticketmaster, by phone at 800-745-3000, and at the Scottrade Center box office.
