Patron tickets are now on sale for the Sheldon Concert Hall's 2008 benefit gala featuring the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. The event will be held Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Sheldon, and tickets for the full package with cocktails, dinner and dancing, preferred seating, complimentary valet parking and a tax deduction start at $500 per person. You can call the Sheldon at 314-533-9900 to order.
Fortunately for the less well-heeled among us, there also will be tickets sold for just the concert portion of the evening, available at $75 for orchestra seats and $65 for the balcony. That's not cheap either, but then again, we are talking about fifteen first-rate players plus a leader who's one of the most famous and accomplished jazz musicians in the world; a band that big doesn't come cheap. The single tickets will be available through Metrotix beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 15.
