An informal evening of improvisation featuring Zimbabwe Nkenya on Sunday, October 7, from 7 – 9 PM at Scott Joplin House State Historic Site, 2658 Delmar Blvd.
Musicians are invited to participate in a structured, free improvisation in the tradition of projects led by AACM in Chicago as well as the rich tradition of ‘new’ music in St. Louis. This event will also serve as a precursor to BAG’s feature event on October 21, a tribute to St. Louis drummers Phillip Wilson, Joe Charles, and Sunny Hamp featuring Gary Sykes.
