Downtown Trio going "Bach to the Future"
at the Sheldon on Tuesday, June 19

The Downtown Trio, also known as the Fan Band to viewers of Channel 11's Sunday night sports program The Fan Show, will be taking on yet another musical identity when they present "Bach to the Future" at 8 p.m. next Tuesday, June 19 at the Sheldon Concert Hall.

Described in an email from keyboardist Mike Silverman as "an exciting quartet performing jazz and world arrangements of classical music, including an Afro-Cuban version of "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," a driving, grooving rendition of "Flight of the Bumblebee" and more," the project also includes Silverman's fellow Downtown Trio members Rob Silverman (drumitar) and Matt Bollinger (bass) as well as electric violinist Andy Driscoll. The concert is part of the Sheldon's "Notes From Home" series and will be MCd by WSIE's Ross Gentile.
