Ben Allison brings his Quartet to Jazz at the Bistro this weekend, and Post-Dispatch freelancer Terry Perkins talked with the bassist for a preview story that can be read online here. In the piece, Allison explains why the Quartet is now his primary touring ensemble, and why drummer Michael Sarin will be playing the band's St. Louis dates in place of Jeff Ballard, who drummed on the groups's most recent CD.
