St. Louis trumpeter Mike Bearman has released Songs for Sally, a limited edition CD of jazz standards available for a donation of $10 or more to the Siteman Cancer Center. According to this story at StLMedia.com, Bearman originally recorded the CD just for his mother, who was undergoing some health problems of her own, but then decided to do a wider release of the recording with all proceeds benefiting the Siteman Center.
Included on the CD are well-known standards such as "Song for My Father", "Days of Wine and Roses", "In A Mellow Tone" and "When I Fall In Love", performed by a quartet including Bearman, Jay Hungerford on bass, Mary Ann Schute on piano and Tommy Wilson on drums. You can see a complete track listing as well as a list of places where the CD can be purchased at the StLMedia link. For mail order information, send an email to SongsForSally@Gmail.com.
