The Whitaker Music Festival, a series of free summer concerts held Wednesday nights at the Missouri Botanical Garden, has announced its 2007 lineup, and as in years past, the first four weeks of the series are given over to jazz performers.
Trumpeter Jeremy Davenport (pictured), a St. Louis native now living in New Orleans, will open the 2007 series on Wednesday, June 6. Trio Tres Bien will perform on June 13, followed by guitarist Dave Black on June 20 and singer Erin Bode on June 27.
Other acts who will appear in 2007 include The Flying Mules (July 4); Wil Maring (July 11); the Baker-McClaren Band (July 18); Melissa Neels (July 25); Peter Mayer (Aug. 1); and Gumbohead (August 8).
Admission to the Botanical Garden is free after 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, and concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. For more information on the Whitaker Music Festival, see this news release (.pdf).
