StLJN Saturday at the Movies:
Miles live in Munich, plus
Sonny Rollins and Jim Hall

It's been a while since we've had any video of Miles Davis, so today's first clip shows him in an excerpt from a performance now available on DVD as Live in Munich. As best I can determine, this footage was shot in 1987 and released for the first time the following year.

For the second part of the double feature, we pay tribute to Sonny Rollins, who just celebrated his 76th birthday earlier this month. This clip shows Newk, guitarist Jim Hall, bassist Bob Crenshaw and drummer Ben Riley performing "God Bless The Child" around the time of the release of the classic Rollins album The Bridge in 1962.
