Jazz tonight: Provisional bonus edition

Major technical problems here at StLJN HQ, including a mysterious Blogger reluctance, browser crashes, and a severely sluggish online connection. So there's only time today to tell you about three shows that are happening tonight.

Wild Cool and Swingin' is playing a free concert starting at 5 p.m. at Clayton's Shaw Park as part of the "Parties in the Park" Series. Cornet Chop Suey is playing one of their periodic shows at the Panorama Inc. Regency Room (lower level), in Belleville. Doors open at 5 p.m, music is from 7 to 10 p.m. and there's a $10 cover. And Kim Massie is doing a free performance at 6 p.m. at the Hilton at the Ballpark as part of Jazz St. Louis' "Jazz on Broadway" series. (Full disclosure: I'll be playing piano with Ms. Massie this evening, so consider yourself warned, with all the usual disclaimers applying..)

I'll be back tomorrow with a look at what's going on the rest of the weekend. If you can't wait until then, just take a look at the St. Louis Jazz Notes Calendar for a more comprehensive list of upcoming gigs.
