The StLJN Saturday cartoon: "My Baby Just Cares For Me"

For this week's Saturday cartoon with a jazz soundtrack, we take a momentary break from vintage animation to offer something more recent. "My Baby Just Cares For Me" is one of singer Nina Simone's best-known pieces, and this clip features a stop-motion animated take on Simone's famous rendition of the tune. The short is from 1987 and was directed by Peter Lord of Aardman Studios, the genius British animators who created Wallace and Gromit - a dotty, cheese-loving inventor and his resourceful canine companion, stars of several short films and one feature - and the full-length animated film Chicken Run.
