HighNote Records to release John Hicks' final studio recordings in August

HighNote Records has announced that they will release the last studio recording by the late jazz pianist and former St. Louisan John Hicks on August 29, 2006. The still-untitled CD was recorded on April 5th at Van Gelder Studios in New Jersey with a lineup including Hicks on piano, tenor saxophonist Javon Jackson, Hicks' wife Elise Wood on flute, bassist Curtis Lundy, drummer Victor Jones and percussionist Ray Mantilla.
