The City of Glendale will present its seventh annual jazz festival from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. this Friday, May 26 at Glendale City Hall, 424 N. Sappington Rd. Admission is free, and featured performers will include the Bosman Twins, Denise Thimes, and festival organizer Terry Thompson's Swing Alive band, featuring the Rat Pack-esque vocal stylings of Dean Christopher. For more information, call 314-965-3600, or see the article from Suburban Journals reporter Robbi Courtaway about the event online at STLtoday here.
(Many thanks to Ms. Courtaway for mentioning StLJN in the piece as a source of information on local jazz events, and my apologies to the event's organizers and to you, O valued reader, for the belated notice in this space. I did get information about the Glendale fest a while back, but, truth be told, it just kind of slipped through the cracks during a busy couple of weeks here at StLJN HQ. Although I try my best to make the information here timely and complete, in this case - well, I just plain blew it. I will certainly do everything I can to make sure that similar omissions do not happen again in the future.)
