Terence BlanchardThe
Sheldon Concert Hall has announced that trumpeter
Terence Blanchard and his sextet will replace the
Dave Holland Quintet for the concert to be held as part of the hall's jazz series on Saturday, April 8. A news release sent out today by the Sheldon says that Holland is unable to appear due to "scheduling conflicts."
Though it is disappointing that Holland and his group, one of the most acclaimed small bands in jazz, won't be appearing, Blanchard is certainly a fine player who's worth seeing. As an added bonus, the Sheldon also announced today that promising young pianist
Robert Glasper, who recently released his debut CD on Blue Note, will open the show with his trio.
Single ticket buyers wishing to attend the Terence Blanchard performance may retain their current tickets and simply present them at the door on April 8. Single ticket buyers may request a refund for the face value of their tickets at the point of purchase. Refunds must be requested by Friday, March 24.
