In today's emailbag, we learn from No Show host and StLJN tipster Brett Underwood that the Mad Art Gallery will be hosting a concert by Latin-jazz-world music band Farshid Etniko this Friday, January 13. The concert starts at 8 p.m., and there will be two sets, the first featuring material from the band's back catalog and the second featuring "experimental world music" and a guest appearance by guitarist Dan Rubright. Admission is $12 at the door.
Brett also mentions that Mad Art hopes to follow up on this concert and last November's show by TriFactor and present a regular series of live music performances, with an emphasis on acts that might be hard to see elsewhere. Sounds like a welcome development; so we'll look for more on this story as things progress.
