Davenport takes root at Busch's Grove
Jeremy Davenport
In today's Post-Dispatch, pop music critic Kevin Johnson broke the story that beginning November 30, St. Louis expat trumpeter and vocalist Jeremy Davenport will begin a three-month gig performing Wednesdays through Saturdays at the new Busch's Grove restaurant, 9160 Clayton Rd.
Davenport is a University City native who moved to New Orleans and first found success as a sideman to Harry Connick before launching his solo career. In New Orleans, he had a house gig at the Ritz-Carlton, so he's no stranger to long residencies. And even before the recent disaster in the Delta, Davenport was already booked to perform at Jazz at the Bistro during Thanksgiving week, so, all in all, it looks like his St. Louis area friends, fans and family will have plenty of chances to hear him perform over the next few months.
