In addition to his ongoing work as a musician, broadcaster, and educator, Lewis (pictured) also serves as artistic director of Jazz at Ravinia, which is part of the famous outdoor music festival that takes place every summer in Highland Park, IL, not far from his Chicago home. The institute is the festival's pre-professional summer conservatory program, with separate tracks for jazz, classical piano and strings, and classical singers.
