Saxophonist Daniel Bennett to perform Tuesday, June 9 at St. Louis Public LIbrary

NYC-based saxophonist Daniel Bennett and his trio are coming to St. Louis to perform at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 9 at the St. Louis Public Library, 1301 Olive St.

The show, which will be presented in the Central Library Auditorium, is part of the SLPL's "Contemporary Tuesday Night" series and is free and open to the public.

Bennett, guitarist Nat Janoff, and drummer Matthew Feick (pictured) are playing some Midwest dates in support of Bennett's new album The Mystery at Clown Castle. The recording is Bennett's sixth as a leader, offering a sound described as "Modern Jazz, fused with elements of American Folk and experimental Classical music."

Bennett also is active in NYC's musical theater scene as a composer and performer, having recently written musical scores for stage adaptations of Frankenstein and Brave Smiles at the Hudson Guild Theatre, and played woodwinds in Blank! The Musical, "the first fully improvised Off-Broadway musical to launch on a national stage."
