Davenport to continue at Busch's Grove

Jeremy Davenport

After coming across this story* about St. Louisan-turned-New Orleanian Jeremy Davenport spending this Mardi Gras season back in St. Louis, I suddenly realized that the trumpeter and vocalist's residency at Busch's Grove, originally announced as a 90-day deal, was technically over and done with at the end of February.

A quick check of the schedule on Davenport's site reveals that the engagement will continue Wednesdays through Saturdays through at least the end of May, albeit with a couple of trips back to New Orleans squeezed in there. So if you haven't yet had a chance to see Davenport perform at the recently opened reimagining of the venerable St. Louis restaurant, or would like to make a return visit, it looks like you'll have ample opportunity this spring.

*The story was filed by KSDK's Mike Bush, who I called "Baxteresque" in a previous entry. Perhaps I have misjudged Mr. Bush (no relation, as far as I know, to the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave) . He's filed two jazz-related stories in the last couple of weeks, so whatever the man's faults, I give him props for that.
